What does looking at a sunset tell you about yourself?
Looking, tasting, smelling, touching, and listening.
Without senses life wouldn’t exist.
But senses are not just our external experience of the world.
The best of who we are comes from inside us – our unique internal sensory connection.
Our identity, our strength, our resilience, our imagination, our trust, our authenticity, and our motivation comes from our senses. To have good judgement we must know ourselves, and understand our connection to our own unique sense intelligence.
You look at sunsets like no one else ever has.
Your uniqueness comes from your senses
There is a unique sense identity in each of us. This connection is revealed through experience and awareness, because the connection happens in the relationship between what is inside us and what is on the outside. When we name what it is that each sense experience gives us; we realise how uniquely each of us relates to the world around us.
No one enjoys the taste of ice cream in exactly the same way. Ask 1000 people to describe what it is they love about looking at a sunset. They each will have a slightly different answer. Although millions of people love the same music, they will describe their enjoyment of that music in their own unique way. Experiences of the senses reveal our uniqueness.
Knowledge and Ownership
We get to know ourselves in a deeper way if we name the relationship connection between ourselves and the sense experience. For example: One person looking at a sunset may experience a sense of PEACE. Another person may experience a sense of JOY. Another may experience POWER. The link to identity is that this is not only the way a person looks at sunsets; it is also the way they look at life!
Our senses are the starting point for our identity. What we experience in our senses feeds our mind, body and emotions, enhancing all areas of life including our work, health, spirituality, sports, and relationships.
Understanding the positive way senses affect every area of our life means we can rely on them as an inner strength. Otherwise, we take them for granted. Although they are intact within us, we are not connecting to them consciously.
Beautiful sunsets, like so much in nature, are a reminder every day of who we are.
